Microsoft Canvas Apps let your team build custom business applications fast, using a drag-and-drop interface that connects to your data (SharePoint, Dataverse, Excel, SQL, and more).

Here's a brief overview of what we'll cover:

• Foundations of PowerFx - including many commonly used formulas
• Form creation (using the form control and the Patch() function)
• Displaying and viewing data
• Filtering and sorting data

This training is for business users and/or non-developer staff who are brand new to Power Apps Canvas Apps (or just somewhat familiar).

To be clear, though basic knowledge of data and even Excel formulas is helpful, participants do NOT need to know how to code or have any professional IT experience.

This training is 2-3 days (depending on your needs).

Each day containing 4-5 hours of curriculum (including time for Q/A sessions)

They are typically held online through Microsoft Teams. Our trainers have significant experience in delivering both online and in-person trainings that are engaging, effective, and fun. 

Example: a day of training is 4-5 hours, starting at 9AM MST. A lunch break at 11:30 AM. Then the rests of the session from 12:30 AM - 3 PM

*Reminder: the sessions ARE recorded and available after the training.

To ensure the best experience and learning environment for students, we've found that 20-30 students maximum is very helpful - though we don't technically have a limit on the number of students.

For bigger classes, we do include a moderator to help manage the larger number of students and provide a better learning environment.

Once completed with this training, your team will be able to:

• Be able to build Canvas applications according to best practices
• Create apps that can save, delete, and update data.
• Design basic menu components
• Utilize common controls, such as: Forms, text inputs, combo boxes, drop downs, date pickers, and more
• Integrate common formulas, including: Set(), UpdateContext(), Collect(), Patch(), and more
• Utilize variables and collections to improve app performance and functionality
• Customize and apps style to change its look and feel

To really help your team have the support they need to build great Canvas apps, we'd recommend the following as add-ons:

• Monthly or weekly group mentoring sessions (including Q/A)
• One-on-one mentoring sessions with an expert to help app makers build their app the best way possible

You don't have to wait for them to be "pros" before they're building effective Canvas apps, they can build amazing apps from the beginning as they continue their training.

Our Recommendation

In our experience helping many other makers, group and individual mentorship, coupled with live trainings is by far the best way to get the best results - as fast as possible.
